Take a look at some of the incredible interior design work that's going into our upcoming show homes at Calder Mews for our phase 1 range!

We’re gearing up for the launch of our first show home at Calder Mews! As work on the site commences, we’re approaching the exciting milestone that is letting you get the chance to look around one of our Phase 1 homes. The show home in question will be on plot 21, featuring our Burlington house model, and should be ready towards the end of August 2023.

With this blog post, we want to walk you through the design and style that interior designer Jeanette Holmes has formulated for the show home in question. The design brief proposed by Jeanette provides some additional context to this, with her stating she wanted to create a “relaxed, sustainable and very family oriented” space to showcase the home. Being functional, environmentally friendly and easy maintenance is a must here, especially where busy lifestyles are so common and down time with family is so important.

As for the colour palette, it’ll consist of earthy tones - the likes of which are in from last year's muted greens and sludgy browns - now reflecting rich greens mixed with sustainable woods and textured fabrics. Grey is also still the ‘go to’ colour, though tends to look better when teamed with more vibrant shades as opposed to more greys and silvers.

Bold patterned wallpaper is another ‘in’ this year, such as large botanical ‘leafy’ prints. These can be teamed with complimenting contrast wall colours, featuring muted shades of taupe, soft greens and caramel as examples.

Moving onto furniture, Jeanette highlights using linen type sofas for a more comfortable and relaxed ‘easy living’ look, as well as being more suited for lounging with a ‘squashy’ feel. To add a splash of colour, fern green velvet cushions as well as black and stone chunky linen cushions are used to compliment the sofa. Other lounge related items include an Aztec TV unit, coffee and side tables, as well as tall shelving to display storage and various accessories.

When it comes to the kitchen space, extendable dining tables are key here. An emphasis is placed on the ability for them to allow for larger family gatherings in addition to smaller, everyday use. Our show home will feature the Sirocco Grey Glass Extending table from Torelli, an exceptionally clean design that really compliments the kitchen and the home as a whole.

Finally, there’s the bedrooms. The home features four of these, including an elegant and stylish master bedroom that creates an escape for adults amidst the hectic busyness of daily family life, two rooms for both a teenage boy and girl respectively, and a child’s bedroom featuring a stunning woodland forest theme.

We want to thank Jeanette for her incredible work in helping us create such a fantastic interior living space to show off to our prospective customers! For more on her stunning work, visit her website here.

And, as mentioned earlier, the show home we’ll be opening up is built from our Burlington house type. Our Burlington homes are currently available for £370,000 - you can find more info on them, as well as our various other homes, here.
