Cash for Kids' Mission Christmas Appeal Erris Team Donations

At Erris Homes, we don’t just build developments – we build communities.

At every Erris Homes site, we make a conscious effort to get involved with local community groups, schools and environmental projects to help build better, happier communities for our customers to live. Over the years we have contributed to schools, local charities and community projects across Yorkshire.

Recent initiatives included ‘Erris’ Wendy House to Dalton School Junior Infant and Nursery, providing a safe and secure reading cottage for nursery pupils, and individually wrapped books given as a Christmas present to each pupil at Wharncliffe Side Primary School.

Our team donated hundreds of toys and gifts for Cash for Kids’ Mission Christmas Appeal to ensure no child in Yorkshire woke up on Christmas day without a present under the tree. We also donated over £150 worth of arts and crafts supplies to Sheffield Children’s Hospital, and over 150 Easter eggs to children at Sheffield Children’s Hospital, Huddersfield Royal Infirmary and Calderdale Royal Infirmary.

Recognising the value of sports teams and their vital role in supporting the youth of our local communities, Erris Homes are proud sponsors of the Horbury Town under 7’s team, funding their kits to play in the Junior Football League.

Helping the homeless

Erris Homes work closely with The Howarth Foundation, a wonderful Huddersfield-based charity helping the homeless and recently re-homed back into employment. We were proud to be co-headline sponsors of The Howarth Foundation’s Music Extravaganza fundraiser in 2019 which raised over £10,000 for the charity! We are also very proud to have supported The Howarth Foundation with the recent launch of Hidden Owls, their new community-based project in Leeds!

Erris Homes worked with The Howarth Foundation to revamp the interior of the outlet and transform it into a welcoming and homey space for The Howarth Foundation’s clients and visitors. In addition to providing advice and guidance in the early stages of the renovation, we engaged a number of our preferred local subcontractors and suppliers to cover pipework, undertake remedial work to the floors, and provide floor coverings across the units.

We know that supporting our local communities entails much more than fundraising for charities and engaging schools and youth clubs. We’re proud to offer employment opportunities for local apprentices and always endeavour to employ locally based subcontractors wherever possible.
