Pupils at Wharncliffe Side Primary School received a fantastic Christmas surprise last week courtesy of Erris Homes!
Sales manager Nick Ollis (right) presented over 170 individually wrapped books to the school so that each child would have a gift to open this Christmas.
“It is wonderful to be able to spread some festive cheer in what has undoubtedly been a difficult year for everyone,” he said. “As Erris Homes are building thirteen new family homes only a short distance from the school on Main Road, we thought it would make a wonderful Christmas surprise for the children of Wharncliffe Side Primary!”
The children excitedly unwrapped their books last Friday during a festive-filled day organised by staff at the school.

Headteacher Mr Gaughan (second to right) met with Nick the day before to receive the books and officially welcome Erris Homes to Wharncliffe Side.
“Wharncliffe Side Primary School would like to thank you for your very generous gift of Christmas books for all our children,” he said. “We will really enjoy reading them and welcoming our new neighbours at Cloverleaf Court!”
Work commenced on our new Cloverleaf Court development in Wharncliffe Side last month. Upon completion, this exclusive development will comprise twelve semi-detached homes and one detached family home.
The development will be part of Erris Homes’ Excellence Collection, with each home offering an enhanced specification as standard including an integrated Zanussi double oven, premium designer kitchen cabinets, electric garage doors, fitted wardrobes and more included in the price.
The first homes will be ready for occupation in summer 2021.
